It is no secret that Main Events Productions and Events @ 1418 has an incredible rooftop deck for hosting events and parties!

However, this year, we started taking advantage of the sun and space and started growing our own herbs, spices, and vegetables! We have been the host of some remarkable basil, thyme, rosemary, tomatoes, and peppers! Not only does it add some color to the rooftop, but it’s adding a fresher taste on A Catered Affair’s fabulous dishes!
We are excited to add to our collection!
For more information in how you can have your event catered with our fresh herbs, then please contact us at…

It is that time of year again! No, not Thanksgiving or Christmas just yet! It’s actually voting time!

The Nashville Scene’s Best of Nashville, is an annual reader’s choice poll, in which you write in your favorites from categories such as Food & Drink, Arts & Entertainment, Media, Home, Shopping, Kids and more. The voting layout is simple and you don’t have to sign up for anything in order for your vote to count! You can even vote multiple times (once a day).
So, here’s what Main Event Productions is asking of our friends! Show your love for The Bake Shoppe for best Local Cake Baker, A Catered Affair for Best Cater and Best Chef, and any other category that you see fitting! Help us be seen in the scene!
If you have yet to experience our remarkable service, please call Kellie at 615-321-2394 or email cater@acateredaffair.net

Our take on tastings – most anyone can cook for 2 people — most of us do this all the time. That said, how valuable is a speculative private tasting? Does anyone think that the caterer will not be on their best behavior, using the best of the best on that day?
We would rather invite our clients to sample our menus during a real party — yes, we host several parties each year – for free and invite our friends, potential clients, past clients, vendor partners and even family. Yes, we are on our best behavior, using the best of the best for that day — but if we were not experienced in producing food for larger ( larger than 2) numbers of guests – wouldn’t we be more likely ot mess up – more likely to drop the ball – and you don’t have to wait until your event to understand that concept:)
So if you are interested in learning more about our open house tasting parties — let us know call us 615.321.2394 or email us at kellie@maineventpro.com to learn more ( we are having a party this week!)

We get requests for “packages” AND we get requests for individual items. Which is best for a wedding? Everyone shops differently — some people like the fit and feel of a package — many of our brides who ask for a package, then make so many revisions to it that it no longer resemble the original “package”. Some brides choose so many things individually, they all would have been present in a package.
There is no right, there is no wrong – just make sure that you understand each and everything that you are ordering and paying for. Ask questions until you get the answer — make sure you understand the answer. Dont be afraid of your wedding vendors — all of us love weddings and want to make our brides happy. So ask away!
Here are some photos from some of our recent “packages” that include flowers, cakes, catering, linens…..you can see some different packages at our website.

Of course there are weddings of all sizes – obviously this year – BUDGET has been the buzz word – brides tell me “low budget” “no budget” and “sad budget” each week.
Our team members of The Bake Shoppe and A Catered Affair do understand all of those words.
Catering Team - A Catered Affair, Events@1418, The Bake Shoppe
We work to help all of our wedding couples at all price ranges — we have always published prices at 3 different levels ( ok – almost always – we started it way back in 1999 for those of you who are counting) both for our catering and wedding cakes.
We work hard to produce quality work at all 3 levels — usually the difference for the wedding cakes is that the designs are not all equal – so we can charge differently — more for those that take LOTS of time:) less for those that take less time — the execution of each design must be impeccable, the quality of the cake inside must be delicious – but there are cost savings designs.
The difference for catering is usually the amount of decor in the setup and presentation as well as the level of service — a buffet requires fewer waiters than a plated and served meal. The food items are all of a high quality — but different food costs differently – duh! So when someone selects a food item that costs us less to buy – then we can pass on those cost savings to her. A great example is beef tenderloin — this summer we hvae seen record lows on beef tenderloin – you know the cut of meat that is MOSt expensive — well we have been passing on those savings.
so call us and ask how we can help save you on your selections!
