Tennessee Voices for Children is a non profit children advocacy agency who speaks out as an active voice for the emotional and behavioral well-being of children and  their families.    On August 12, 2010 they honored those within the community who do just that!!!  Among those honorees was Main Event Productions and A Catered Affair’s very own Kellie Bryson.  She was awarded the Lifetime of Giving award.  This award is for the company outside of the child serving system that has always supported TVC through generous gifts, donations, and services.

Congratulations to Kellie and the other honorees!  Thank you for your hard work, generosity, and life-changing impact you have on the Nashville community.

On June 24, 2010 Main Event Productions introduced our newest and most exciting division called Fantastic Flipbooks.  This was launched at our Open House where all the sister divisions-The Bake Shoppe, A Catered Affair, and Events @1418-were all dressed up to help introduce this newest addition to our Nashville friends!

Here’s a look at what A Catered Affair was dishing out…

Mediterranean Pita Trio:  Mini Pita Pockets filled with guests’ choice of our signature thinly sliced pastrami and drizzled with tzatziki sauce, grilled vegetable with feta cheese or a grilled sausage with relish.

Teatime Tomatoes:  Cherry tomatoes hollowed and piped with a mild curried bean mixture and garnished with parsley while served on bed of kosher salt

Chilled Honey Cucumber Gazpacho

Seared Mahi-Mahi with wild mushroom powder and smoky salsa on flat bread toast

Mini Salad Stacks Action Station – Pre stacked mini salads that are then transferred onto a plate in which guests can drizzle with a spicy blueberry or sweet green chili vinaigrette

Your choice of Lemon, Chocolate, or Raspberry Mini Mousse Cups

Our guests also enjoyed our bar station where our latest and greatest lemonade with fresh mint was served alongside of our spiked lemonade cocktails!  Glasses of Red Cherry Lifesaver Lemonade, Lynchburg Lemonade, and Peach Margaritas finished the evening and all around delightful event!

Our take on tastings – most anyone can cook for 2 people — most of us do this all the time.  That said, how valuable is a speculative private tasting?  Does anyone think that the caterer will not be on their best behavior, using the best of the best on that day?

We would rather invite our clients  to sample our menus during a real party — yes, we host several parties each year – for free and invite our friends, potential clients, past clients, vendor partners and even family.  Yes, we are on our best behavior, using the best of the best for that day — but if we were not experienced in producing food for larger ( larger than 2) numbers of guests – wouldn’t we be more likely ot mess up – more likely to drop the ball – and you don’t have to wait until your event to understand that concept:)

So if you are interested in learning more about our open house tasting parties — let us know call us 615.321.2394  or email us at kellie@maineventpro.com to learn more ( we are having a party this week!)

Events @ 1418 is THE location for many special events.  Last month we had one of our very supportive clients (our very first non-family client!)  in for their annual holiday party.  Each year we strive to help them have a different experience.  If you scroll way down, you can see photos from their cooking class dinner.

This year we produced dinner and a murder.  The murder was set during the 1920′s and the guests really got into their roles – what great costumes!

Phil Thornton with Phindy Studios captured the fun and here are the images for you to see.

The guests met at the host’s home in Murfreesboro where Judi ( see above photo) provided appetizers but her main role was to get the guests into their respective roles.  Little did we know just how little prompting would be needed to get these party people going.  During the coach drive to Event@1418, guests continued to role play and visit.

Upon arrival guests received passed hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails while moving to the next stage of the “game”.  The murder happened before the main course was served and much sleuthing then ensued.

I won’t tell “who done it” — book your own Murder Mystery at Events@1418 and let the catering team take care of your next event!

Buffet Station

Buffet Station

Clients want different service styles for different types of events.  Sometimes spacing in the event venue does not allow for the square footage needed for buffets and their footprints – and plated meal service is necessary.  Sometimes the client wants to share a higher level of service with their guests – and plated meal service is necessary.

WOW!  We met some amazing ladies yesterday at the Executive Assistant Gratitude Day.  We sponsored lunch for about 100 guests.  Our great chefs from A Catered Affair made some tasty treats for everyone to enjoy.

White Cheddar Grits with Braised Beef Shortribs — we served in a martini glass – so it was just the right amount on a summer day.  We debuted a Coffee and Chile brined Pork Loin a couple of weeks ago and this time Chef Gary brined it for 6 days – lots of compliments!!! — and served over a Summer Succotash.
